SERBIAN *O KOMPILACIJI *

Posle višemesečne pripreme, regionalna godišnja kompilacija "Balkan Under The Radar" pod okriljem Black Planet Records-a doživela je svoje šesto izdanje. Budući da je već učvrstila zvuk etikete i rezidente, ekipa sa Crne planete Vam ove godine predstavlja "Black Box". Kompilacije "Balkan Under The Radar " imaju za cilj otkrivanje zanimljivih imena uglavnom iz Srbije, ali i iz ostalih zemalja sa prostora Balkana, uz naravno naše rezidente i prijatelje. Uspeli smo da objedinimo podzemlje skoro svih bivših jugoslovenskih republika. Većina stvari je pravljeno specijalno za ovu kompilaciju, a sve nisu zvanično objavljivane.
Ovog puta kompilacija se sastoji iz dve celine sa 29 numera izvođača iz celog regiona. Prvi deo je posvećen sviračkim i elektronskim alternativnim projektima sa vokalima. Drugi deo je posvećen eksperimentalnoj instrumentalnoj muzici i elektronici a sadrži noise i eksperimentalne i spoken word uratke. Što se tiče zastupljenosti pravaca - i ovoga put je dijapazon širok – alternativa, elektronika , avant garde, bass music, doom, industrial, ambient, dnb, noise, jazz-funk, hip hop, dub, fusion, experimental itd. Ovogodišnja novina je mali literarni dodatak skriven među pesmama.

*ABOUT THE RELEASE *

After months of preparation, the yearly regional compilation "Balkan Under The Radar" has lived to see its sixth edition. The Black Planet team proudly presents volume 6: "Black Box".


The compilations "Balkan Under The Radar" aim to discover interesting names mainly from Serbia, but also from other countries from the Ex-Yugoslavia/Balkan area, with naturally our residents and friends. We managed to unite the underworld of almost all former Yugoslav republics. Most of the tracks were done specifically for this compilation, and they were all unpublished before. This time, the compilation consists of two discs with 29 tracks from artists across the region. The first part is dedicated to live bands' music and electronic alternative projects with vocals. The second part is dedicated to experimental instrumental music and electronics and noise and experimental tracks. As for the genres - as always, the range is wide - alternative, avant-garde, bass music, electronics, industrial, ambient, dnb, doom, spoken word, noise, jazz-funk, hip-hop, dub, fusion, experimental etc.

VELIBOR NIKOLIĆ (PANČEVO)

Velibor Nikolić was born in Vršac. Started playing music recreationally around 1994. making electronic music and created his first band Sublimacija in 1998. After moving to Pančevo he played in a band called Jewy Sabatay until they broke up in 2010. In 2011. he formed band Brigand which is currently active. As a solo author he released two solo albums under alias Alvarez, two eps (remastered and reissued on Black Planet as an LP). "Čovek peva posle rata" (2012.) is his first solo album and "Lov na vukove" is his second. It was, as well as both Brigand albums were released on Black Planet Records.

BABADUH (SVRLJIG)

Band "Babaduh" is a young alternative duo formed by Danilo Marjanovic and Milutin Marjanovic in July 2017. Regardless of the "newly born" attribute, "Babaduh" is far from that. The brothers played together for eight years, but they have just decided to transfer their ideas to "canvas" and start presenting them by creating "Babaduh". So far they have released two singles "Karma" and "Apatija". At this point, "Babaduh" is characterized as a virtual band propagating a mixture of genres.

SUBOTEX (NOVI GRAD)

Subotex was created in the spring of 2018 by Siniša Bajić - Bajsa (Kleimor, Infrared) and Marko Medić - Make (The Shejvers, Roadkill).

By merging modern sound, rock, and electronics, in a couple of months, the guys from the band prepared their own material and started performing in front of audiences.

The themes of the songs are diverse, explicit and contemporary. The everyday reality, metaphysics, dreams, families, love, survival, politics ... are just some of the topics that Subotex deals with using irony as the last degree of defense from the petty neighborhood that surrounds us, people who are not afraid to express their views and question life around you.

Both thematically and genre-wise, this band can not be crammed into one, two or five genres. All songs are different, but again they make one coherent whole and the listener will surely feel it on your skin. Although it has two members in its original set, sound is built from a variety of instruments, both analog and digital; guitar, bass, drum and rhythm of machines, synthesizers and special effects that together form a striking sound.

UZEMLJENJE (BELGRADE)

is a Belgrade alternative rock band, created in November 2011. Already at the first rehearsal, the band decided not to waste time with covers, since there were more than enough ideas to dedicate the band exclusively to their own authentic work. In the setup of two guitars, bass and drum, there is not much room for experimentation, music is mostly characterized by simple and clear guitars. Special attention is paid to texts that have an appellative role on listeners and human consciousness, with a clear criticism of the social system, but also of a man as an individual. In July 2014, the first studio album "Mechanism" was released, and another studio album called "Bestrag" is under construction.

TENTACLE WIZARD (NOVI SAD)


Tentacle Wizard is a four-piece band from Novi Sad, Serbia, formed back in 2013, starting with a stoner-doom influence and developing into something unique and our own over the years.

The band draws influence from various genres like stoner, doom, post-metal, psychedelic, kraut rock, post-rock, even noise and drone. With all that as a root, we're trying to make original music that reflects member's natures. Our playing and sound can get heavy and massive, rarely even harsh and aggressive, yet we enjoy to slowly develop cleaner segments. Most of our music is created spontaneously, when we record or actually remember a good bit of jamming, riffing, droning. Also, there are many moments of improvisation on live gigs.

Various different tunings and unusual two-bass setup help define our sound and atmosphere. There can be fun things when you clash a four string often-drop-tuned bass, five string bass and a double neck 6/12 string guitar tuned in two alternate tunings, armed with pedals, resulting in almost a three bass sound when needed.

ALAN HAJDUK (ZENICA)

Ex-member of Dubioza Kolektiv. Almir Hasanbegović, Adisa Zvekić, Alan Hajduk and Adis Zvekić founded Gluho doba in 1993 in Zenica as a street rap improvisation band. They were trying to fight the war atmosphere with their fusion of Hip Hop, Reggae, Ska, Ethno, Crossover... After the war they started with intense concert activities and played several festivals:

"Le Printemps De Bourges", Bourges, France, 1996;
"Ziva Festival",Nantes, Capdenac, France, 1996;
"Remember Hiroshima festival" Bern, Switzerland, 1996;
"Rock Under The Siege B" Sarajevo, BiH, 1996;
held many concerts all around Bosnia

D.A.A.G.D. recorded 2 demo tracks ("Do you really love me?" and "Destruction") in MAT studio in Tuzla in 1995. During their stay in Bourgesu, in April of 1996 they recorded a demo CD in "Pekor Product" studio containing tracks: "Make a choice", "Reggin'", "Highwayman" and "Face in the sky".
"Face in the sky" video was made in 1997. Due to difficult work conditions in later years, the band continued with street performances on numerous occasions, DJ-MC sessions in clubs in Bosnia-Herzegovina. He worked on a series of projects
from which one can distinguish one on the song "Link to the chain of evil" with Adisa Hasanovic Zvekic and Aldin Hasanovic as producer
and on his solo drum n bass project. Two of them were played on Mtv Party Zone, which is "Dark Essence 9" and "Dark Essence 5".
He is currently working on creating a new genre of dark zenica electro.

GIMPKING (GORSKI KOTAR)


GimpKing is a forest ranger from the village of Gorski Kotar (Cro). He was looking for a better life in Slovenia, but he ended up in prison because of a series of criminal activities. GimpKing has received electrolysis therapy and claims that it is never the same again. As a consequence, he has a slight loss of memory and hallucinations.

is a musical project by Dusan Milenkovic, a guitarist and keyboardist who works and performs with several bands in Nis.

"Endles Neumles" is a noise-drone-ambient project originating from the desire for an experiment in the freedom of creating a sound form, based on improvisation and an alternative approach to "playing" instruments. The bass guitar signal is the initial impulse on the basis of which a sound image is built in the shape of digital and analogue effects, erasing the boundaries between tones, sounds and noise. From all this, a unique sonic journey is built led by intuition, instant inspiration, endless improvisation, and randomness as key elements of performance.
